Geek Alert! Tips and tricks to stay in the loop.

The technical staff here at Sanguine et Purpure (aka "Internet Alpha") is working to help you better integrate S&P into your Sig Ep experience. We are adding features as rapidly as we can to make this site interesting and keep you coming back. Notice the links in the sidebar to Sig Ep Items on eBay and to the Sig Ep News from Google. Also, we have made it easier to add comments and have added the "Blogroll Me" link so you can easily add us to your "Blogrolling.com" list.

Here is a list of things you can do to stay in touch.

  1. Bookmark us in your browser and come back often.
  2. Put a link to S&P ("http://redandpurple.blogspot.com") on your chapter web site.
Send us a note that you have linked and we will add a link to the Chapter site in our sidebar "Links" area.
  3. If you have a personal blog, put us on your blogroll. We make it easy with our "Blogroll Me!" link. Again, we will gladly return the favor.
(Disclaimer: We may not link back if the content is egregiously offensive).
  4. Use the RSS/Atom feed (WTF is that?) to keep up to date. Its in the sidebar as "Site Feed".
If you have a newsreader that can accept "Atom" feeds (Many can - including the My Yahoo! beta version if you are signed up.) you can stay up to date on every new post. If you don't, look into it. It will change the way you "web".
  5. If you see a post that inspires you to talk back by all means enter a comment!
Comments are as anonymous or as attributable as you care to make them. Just remember this is a public forum and type accordingly.

One other big thing: While our technical staff is competent, we are always looking for better ways to do things. Its a big web and we can only scan a small part of it when the boss isn't looking. A few of us + a lot of you = lots of opportunity to make this site better. If the web heads out there know of a neat feature, a new app, or some interesting JavaScript that will help improve our service please send it along to Oracle or Wordjunky. If we use it we will credit you with a letter in your "double secret attaboy" file.

We have grown rapidly in terms of site 'hits' and really appreciate everyone stopping by to take a look. Help us to keep growing. Tell your brothers, your alumni, your rushees. We are considering moving off of the relatively simple "Blogger.com" site and acquiring some serious blogging software (like "Movable Type") that will allow more options (like guest bloggers) if the traffic warrants it. We challenge you to force our hand. As they say in Chicago: "Vote Early! Vote Often!"

Thanks for all your support.
