He was found dead Friday at the
Chi Psi fraternity.
Excerpts from the Friday 911 call made from the Chi Psi fraternity house, where Lynn Gordon Bailey, an 18-year-old student at the University of Colorado at Boulder, was found lying on his stomach Friday morning. The caller was identified only as "Cal."
Operator: What's going on?
Cal: We've got a guy who is passed out. He drank way too much and we found him this morning.
Operator: Is he breathing?
Cal: I don't know. He's not waking up.
Operator: How old do you think he is?
Cal: Ah, maybe 18, 19 ...
Operator: How do you know he was drinking?
Cal: Ah, I got back last night and a bunch of 'em were all drinking.
Cal then says that Bailey was on the floor and that he was "not very cold" and "doesn't look blue."
Operator: So you can't tell if he is breathing or not?
Cal: He's lying on his stomach. ... Let me see if I can roll up his shirt. ... It doesn't look like it ... (expletive) ...
Operator: You don't think what? It doesn't look like what?
Cal: It doesn't look like he is breathing very much at all.
Operator: At all or not very much?
Cal: Doesn't look like it at all.
The operator asks Cal to try to roll Bailey over in order to see if he is breathing and possibly administer CPR. But Cal and another person are not able to turn him over.
Cal: He is a big guy.
Operator: Like how big?
Cal: 230 pounds. ... I don't know if I can roll him over.
Operator: Does he have anything coming out of his mouth like, like vomit or ...
Cal: There is old vomit on him.
Operator: Old vomit?
Cal: I don't think it is very fresh. Nothing is coming out now.
Five minutes into the call, Cal starts patting Bailey on the back.
Operator: Do you mean patting him on the back like reassuring him?
Cal: Just trying to see if I can get a response out of him.
Sound of patting is audible.
Cal: Dude, wake up.
Operator: Did he respond at all to that?
Cal: Ah, no.
Operator: No.
