A Letter From Sgt. Missick

We wrote Sgt. Missick to tell him of the entry on this blog and received this letter in reply. His blog, "A line in the Sand" is now on our blogroll. Thanks Sgt. Missick, Stay Safe.:
It was a pleasure to receive your e-mail. I've actually been following the blog you guys have been keeping for a few weeks now, since I first saw it mentioned on SigEp Talk. I harbor many of the sentiments you gentlemen express from time to time, and have a desire to stay involved as an alumni with the Fraternity. You seem to have found a great way to address issues that our brotherhood must confront in a "no b.s." sort of way, I'm appreciative of that.

I graduated in 2003 and served the chapter in a variety of capacities at Cal-Theta, CSU Sacramento. I definately learned some lessons the hard way and made my share of mistakes, but the benefits I received from SigEp and the opportunities for leadership it provided has really helped me in my military and civilian life.

I'll post a link and a small entry in an upcoming post about Sanguine et Purpure. I also really appreciate the post you guys put on the blog about my site. Honestly, I am not a front line soldier and hardly perform the feats of heroism that our infantrymen and Marines do daily, but I am in theater and proud to be doing my part. Thank you also "wordjunky" for your service during the Vietnam era, you can take pride in offering your time and service to our nation.

Fraternally,
Chris Missick
We are not going to get political here. We can all agree, I think, that when Americans, and especially Sig Ep brothers, are in harm's way we support them and appreciate their service.
