A.J. Mazza, a junior marketing and finance major, likes to talk smack on the basketball court.
But it's difficult to be intimidated by a player who shows up clad in extra-large Celtics shorts and goofy suspenders.
Mazza finally got a chance to back his mouth up this Saturday at Sigma Phi Epsilon's second annual Dodgeball Tournament, a competition that encourages participants to forget what they've learned about peacefully resolving issues, preferring they instead beat the crap out of each other with rubber balls.
But unlike the rough-and-tumble of dodgeball, the event's purpose was soft and compassionate. Sig Ep collected more than $1,000 to benefit Tuesday's Children, a charitable foundation that promises mentoring and educational nourishment for children left parentless after Sept. 11.
