Seven members of Sigma Phi Epsilon were certified as alcohol awareness trainers Saturday. After a day of training, they all passed an exam to become certified TIPS trainers.
The men participated in an all-day Training for Intervention Procedures session to receive credentials that will allow them to conduct awareness programs for other students at OU. Rich Johnson, Sigma Phi Epsilon president and accounting senior, said the fraternity members hope to train the rest of their house at the beginning of the spring semester. He said the program will also be available to other fraternities and any student organizations.
