Looks like USC is joining the growing ranks of institutions that are getting serious about their alcohol policies. The responsible leaders of fraternities understand the resons for it.
"It's easy to show a person a good time in a week," said Ellis. "Now the focus is learning what the principles of these fraternities are besides the social aspect."IFC cracks down on drinking
Other fraternity presidents echoed Ellis, saying the purpose of rush is to promote conversation and interaction between rushes and active members.
"Rush is not all about going to a cool club. It's about recruiting people you can trust the future of the house to," said Sigma Phi Epsilon president Steve Houchin, a junior majoring in broadcast journalism and cinema-television.
