MTU students pull all-nighter for Carnival

It's really cold at Michigan Tech and everyone is playing in the snow.

It's the Winter Carnival all-nighter, and anyone who is anyone is here to take in the frenzy of the last push before snow statue judging at 9 a.m.

Adjacent to a large-screen video concert of metal band AC/DC, Brandon Tenner of Sigma Phi Epsilon worked to scrape some detail into an icy anchor, part of the fraternity's scene depicting a giant squid protecting a treasure chest from greedy deep-sea divers, in keeping with this year's theme of "A Frozen Commotion from the Depths of the Ocean."

"We've done a lot of squid rebuilding," Tenner said regarding the impact of last week's unseasonably warm temperatures. "We had three tentacles totally collapse and have had to put a lot of extra effort in."

I just hate it when warm weather makes my tentacles collapse. Don't you?

Good luck, guys.
