The "Parthenon" of Marshall University has this article about the Greek presence on campus.
Marshall is part of the nine-million member Greek organization and currently has 21 different chapters.
Thad Merriman, Sigma Phi Epsilon member, said Sig Ep has the largest number of chapters in the nation, with 41 members on Marshall's campus. He said he did not know Sig Ep was so big when he joined, and did not play a role in deciding what fraternity to join.

Devin Perry, Alpha Sigma Phi member, said there are more benefits to the Greek life than just the social side. He said he believes being a part of the Greek community will look good in the future.
"I think that when I go out looking for a job, employers will see that I have been in a fraternity and realize that I will be able to work well with others and possibly become a leader," Perry said.
Becoming a leader is what some alumni from the Greek community did: 48 percent of United States presidents, 42 percent of U.S. senators, 30 percent of U.S congressmen/women and 40 percent of all U.S. Supreme Court justices were members of Greek organizations.
But lets not forget the really important stuff...
Alumni of Greek organizations are also involved in things such as becoming an astronaut, head writer for CBS's "Guiding Light", co-creator of the Muppets and actress in The Bachelorette.
Michelle Captain, Sigma Sigma Sigma member, said she thinks it is cool Linda Denham, one of her sorority sisters, was actually the creator of Care Bears.
It is neat that one of our sisters is the creator of Care Bears," Captain said. "She made one bear, Harmony, specifically for Tri Sigma with three hearts symbolizing our symbol the triangle."
Yup, "Care Bears". What a reason to go Greek.
