The Sigma Chi house was packed with fraternity brothers, friends and anticipation awaiting Tuesday's episode of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.
At least 60 people crowded around the frat house's TV and roared as the Fab Five's SUV pulled up to the house. They snapped their fingers in approval when the spotlighted "straight guy" Cameron Allahverdi, Flower Mound junior, spoke of the fraternity's diverse membership.
Although the show followed the series' typical format of five gay guys making over a heterosexual male (Allahverdi) , they also helped to improve the overall look of the fraternity's house.
Gone were the white walls, "ratty old couches," and empty, dormitory-look described by members such as Daniel LaBruyere, Arlington sophomore.
After the Fab Five left, the house had a new paint job, curtains, vending machine and an arcade machine, among other improvements.
"I'm prepared to look stupid on TV," Allahverdi said while waiting for the show to start. "I did it for the house."
The episode features a workout with the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders, a trip to Elliot's Hardware store and an abundance of the over-the-top innuendo the series is known for.
Fifteen minutes before the 9 p.m. airing on Bravo, Allahverdi said that he was full of nervous excitement, but upon watching the episode, he felt very pleased.
"I think they depicted us very well," Allahverdi said. "They showed all of the good things. I'm not nervous watching it anymore."
The show changed the Sigma Chi house and all of the members.
"I think the entire chapter's a little more fashion-minded now," LaBruyere said.
