WACO, Texas The national office of a Baylor fraternity has closed the chapter amid allegations of hazing and underage drinking.
The president of the 45-member Sigma Phi Epsilon chapter at Baylor says he didn't know of any such incidents and would have put a stop to them if he had.
The chapter has been on the Baylor campus for 29 years.
An official at Sig Ep's headquarters says the chapter closed its doors Tuesday.
After receiving a tip from Baylor officials, fraternity investigators confirmed that pledges were made to do excessive amounts of calisthenics and that underage drinking had occurred.
The chapter was suspended for a year in 2002 after some members were pictured, clothed, in Playboy magazine as part of a "Women of the Big 12" pictorial.
