Five former members of the Chi Psi fraternity at the University of Colorado have pleaded guilty to providing alcohol to a minor, following the drinking death of an 18-year-old pledge from Dallas last fall.
Chi Psi's national headquarters in Hendersonville, Tennessee, shut down the Colorado chapter shortly after the death.
Frank Darden, 19, Austin Brooks, 20, Thomas Tankersley, 20, Alan Williams, 20, and Patrick Wall, 21, each received sentences requiring them to perform 100 hours of community service.
Lynn (Gordie) Bailey Junior was a Colorado freshman and a Chi Psi pledge found dead inside the fraternity house September 17th.
A police affidavit indicates Bailey and 26 other pledges were taken to the mountains the night before, given bottles of whiskey and wine, and told no one was leaving until the whiskey was gone.
Seven other ex-Chi Psi members are slated to appear in court on the same charges next month.
