Idaho SEC: Small but proud and moving forward

Nicholas Mayerhoff, Chaplain of our Idaho SEC, reported today that a small chapter delegation attended the campus Greek Awards Banquet on April 20. Unfortunately, they couldn't send the whole chapter because they came away winners.

They could only send a small delegation because the majority of their members were working their annual philanthropy, Rock Against Rape, were they raised over $1,000 for their local women's sexual assault aid program, Alternatives to Violence in the Palouse.

Their president, Jeremy Blancette, who did attend the Banquet, told them at the end of the night that they had placed: Highest GPA for Juniors, 3rd highest GPA, 2nd place for the canned food drive, 1st place for Song-Fest, 3rd for house decorations, and 2nd place overall for Greek Week. Idaho SEC is the smallest active fraternity on a campus that has 18 other fraternities. They placed 3rd in house decorations and they don't even have a house (most of them live in one residence hall and they commandeered and decorated our lounge). Two-and-one-half years ago there were about 7 members. They have now grown to 24 and are beginning to make a name for themselves. They managed to win more awards then all but the largest fraternity here.

Kudos from S&P and keep up the good work.
