This week is a busy one for the UCF Greek community. Greek Week 2005 is in full swing, and with a grand total of 41 Greek organizations participating, it's the largest Greek Week yet.
Greek Week is an annual competition between teams of fraternities and sororities composed of several elements: philanthropy, a banner and sign-making contest, a day of outdoor games and a skit night in which each team gets a chance to show off its singing, dancing and acting skills. With one new sorority and one new fraternity at UCF this spring, the teams are getting larger and larger.

Sigma Phi Epsilon crowns Queen of Hearts in annual competition
The Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity held its annual Queen of Hearts competition last week to benefit the American Cancer Society and to crown themselves a sweetheart for the 2005-2006 year. Six sorority women, representing Alpha Delta Pi, Delta Delta Delta, Pi Beta Phi, Kappa Delta, Chi Omega and Zeta Tau Alpha, competed throughout the week to win. Events included a penny wars competition Monday through Wednesday and a date auction and dance competition on Wednesday evening. Reigning Queen of Hearts Kali Elias, a member of Zeta Tau Alpha, passed the crown to Megan Eastman of Alpha Delta Pi. The competition was a huge success and raised about $4,000 for the American Cancer Society.
