Never Fear - Common Sense Is Here
In the immortal words of Austin Powers, "please allow myself to introduce,...myself". I am "Common Sense", a new voice here at S & P. I blatantly stole my name from patriot Thomas Paine, who authored the immortal pamphlet "Common Sense" as a way of voicing rational arguments against English tyranny. In the spirit of Thomas Paine, I am going to take the opportunity, in the days and weeks that run up to our biennial Conclave, to write some editorials and provoke some thought regarding the state of our beloved fraternity. I do not expect all of you to agree or disagree with what I am going to say and that is fine by me. The purpose of these essays will not be to create a new generation of sycophants and yes men. The purpose of these essays will be to stir some debate that will hopefully lead to some positive action on behalf of YOUR fraternity. So in the days and weeks ahead, look forward to some commetary on the way we, as a fraternity, do business. I plan to address topics ranging from volunteers, the ritual, member development, recruitment, staff usage, and other items of interest. Also, feel free to comment liberally and let me know what you think. Just remember that I always, always, love being a Sig Ep!
