Fireworks For Charities Stolen
June 30, 2005 — For one Fresno State frat house this Fourth of July is already a dud.
Thieves broke into the storage unit at Blackstone and Shaw Avenues sometime overnight and got away with nearly $50,000 worth of fireworks.
The Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity runs the stand to raise money for a variety of charities.
They say now they'll have to find a way to make the money back.
"It doesn't hurt me personally but it does hurt the charities," says Tom Weil, Sigma Phi Epsilon.
Luckily no one was hurt, the fraternity says from now on they will have a security guard at the location overnight.
