How do we close the deal?
If a recruit has not become a registered member of Sigma Phi Epsilon by the end of the summer, get him registered with Headquarters! If you can’t get him registered over the summer, it is important to immediately contact him once he gets to campus. You’ve got to establish and maintain contact from the first time you meet a recruit until he joins, especially once he gets on campus where he has the opportunity to meet other fraternities.
The chapter must directly communicate to him that it is interested in having him join—if he meets the requirements, of course. Once a guy is ready to join, there are lots of ways he can help from his position as a recruit. Close the deal like you’re a stock broker getting a deal in before the close of business. Have you seen Boiler Room? Create a sense of urgency!
