Thr blogger's breakfast was a qualified success. Approximately 15 people showed up and we had a good discussion about the direction of the blog and various ideas about how it could be made better. The turnout might have been higher if we had been able to schedule a more "undergrad friendly" time. Many attendees had been exploring "Printer's Alley" last night and were still comatose at the ungodly hour of 8 am. Then too, we did not count the HQ staffers trying to be inconspicous by sitting 5 tables away and peeking out from behind their newspapers to see who would win the pool to ID the players. Further complicating matters was the fact that ALL the fliers we posted were summarily removed. Not pointing fingers, but for the record that was dirty pool.
Ohio Eta (Miami) was the winner of the "Outstanding Web Site" award. They received a framed certificate and a $100 donation to their chapter's Foundation scholarship fund. The rest of the finalists received a "finalist" certificate. Representatives from OH Eta, TX Delta, and LA Beta showed up to claim their honors. We will be mailing awards to FL Gamma and TN Eta if we do not see them before the end of Conclave.
Thanks to everyone who showed up and to those of you who have checked us out and helped our hit count rise above 33,000 for our first year of work. Just like the Fraternity, we plan to keep raising the bar and getting better.
