Brothers,

The Texas Delta Chapter at the University of Houston is expecting to be significantly affected by Hurricane Rita, now a category 5 hurricane.  The storm is strengthening rapidly and projections continue to show Houston getting a direct hit.

Our house on campus was evacuated at 6pm on Thursday and as most furnishings were moved from the first floor to the upstairs.  Preparations have been moving much quicker after learning from the mistakes made during Katrina.

With winds now approaching 175 mph, we are  bracing for the worst.  I wanted to inform everyone that all the brothers have been relocated around Texas with a few choosing to ride out the storm with their families in the Houston area.

Formal Rush was scheduled to end with Bid Day this Friday, but everything has obviously been put on hold. Classes have been cancelled through the weekend, but due to the severity of the storm the cancellations could last for much longer.

Please keep us in your hearts, as we do not know what this storm holds for us in the future.
