Michael Beier, Sigma Phi Epsilon philanthropy chairman and industrial engineering junior, said although they had hoped to include even more organizations in this year’s tournament, the OU-Texas weekend interfered with their ability to advertise this charitable event.

“Originally, we planned on branching out to all organizations,” said Beier. “We want to expand it to an all-campus event.”

Beier said the limitation of participants has increased the success of the tournament in terms of spectators, fundraising and atmosphere.

“You can see sorority girls throwing balls at each other,” said Brock Carter, Sigma Phi Epsilon member and mechanical engineering junior. “It’s just an amazing time.”

“This year, there are a lot more fans and it’s a lot more intense,” said Jenny Sowers, Chi Omega member and secondary education junior.

The atmosphere inside the recreational center was electric, with screams and sorority chants echoed off the walls.

Sig Ep raised over $2000 for Habitat for Humanity with this year's tournament.
