Dominic Giarratano, senior journalism major who coordinated the event, said each bachelor sells around $350. The Bachelor Auction is Sigma Phi Epsilon's main philanthropy event of the year, he said. The sold-out event sold tickets for $64 per table of eight women.

"Last year we had eight open tables," Giarratano said. "This year we don't have enough room for our guys to sit."

Giarratano said the Bachelor Auction raised a grand total of $7,500 including all ticket and raffle sales.

Both Giarratano and Smith said they were encouraged to see so many women attend and have such an incredible outcome.

"It's stuff like this that makes me smile every single day," Smith said.

All those women, looking at you like you were a piece of meat. I hear the guy with the high bid of the night rubbed down with A-1 sauce.
