If you look at the hit counter on our sidebar you will see that we recently rolled over 45,000 visits to this "little ol' blog from Texas". Based on the number of daily visits we have had recently, that means we will reach the milestone of 50,000 visits sometime in the next several weeks.
That is a fantastic show of support! We will gush further when we hit the milestone, but for now we want you to help us get ready. We would like to do something to show our gratitude and at the same time encourage folks to keep coming back and tell your Sig Ep brothers about us.
Here is the deal:
Send an email to contest50k@wordjunky.com with your estimate to the exact day:hour:minute:second. The closest estimate will win a $50 contribution to your chapter's Ed. Foundation scholarship fund in your name, plus a vintage Sig Ep shirt from Wordjunky's own closet. (...And no, second prize is not 2 shirts!)
Let's see when you think we will hit that milestone. Get those emails headed our way. Be sure to include your name and your Chapter (if you are a Sig Ep) so we can give proper credit. But hurry - we will cut off the flow when we get close to keep everything fair.
- Fine print department:
- The 'official' Blog posters are not eligible to participate.
- The winning entry will come closest to predicting the correct day, hour, minute, and second that the 50,000th hit is recorded on our hit counter, without overestimating.
- In the event of a tie the winner will be determined by a random selection of all tied entries.
- A $50 contribution will be made to the Sigma Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation scholarship fund of the chapter designated by the winning entry in the name of that person. If no specific chapter is specified the contribution will be made to the Sigma Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation General fund.
- Shirt selection will be at the sole discretion of the contest judges.
