Tragos Quest to Greece Deadline Approaching

We have been asked to pass along this reminder that the "Tragos Quest to Greece" application deadline is nearly upon us.

Those who are interested need to get their act together and apply!

2006 Tragos Quest to Greece Applications Available at www.q2g.org

The Tragos Quest to Greece is an intense, one-week journey through ancient Greece in search of Sigma Phi Epsilon’s foundation. During the Tragos Quest, you will discuss the Socratic method of teaching in the Agora where Socrates taught, compete in the original Olympic stadium, and study the Ritual in Delphi after learning about the mysteries of Eleusis. The Tragos Quest is an exhausting personal and educational experience that will challenge you intellectually, physically and emotionally.

This year, the Tragos Quest to Greece will take place from June 23 through July 2, 2006. Only sophomores and juniors may apply. Although chapter leadership positions are important to the application, no specific SigEp, campus or community involvement is required. Interested brothers must first register and then complete the on-line application form, which includes two letters of recommendation and a recent photo. Applications must be received by December 15, 2005, and you can apply by visiting www.q2g.org/login.asp. Only on-line applications will be accepted. The 2006 Tragos Quest to Greece Ambassadors will be announced in February at their respective regional Carlson Leadership Academies.

International flights, tours, hotels, local transportation, and most meals will be covered by the Tragos Quest to Greece. The participants will be responsible for getting themselves to and from Chicago and incidental expenses. Participants should budget at least $400 for personal expenses in Greece.

Alumni Mentors

Each year five SigEp alumni are selected to be Mentors on the Tragos Quest to Greece. As a Mentor, you will awake each morning before the undergraduate Questors…and go to bed after. You will walk more, read more, study more, and are challenged more than you have been in the last 20 years. You will work each day with SigEp Super Kids who are used to doing everything at warp speed. And, you are expected to keep up.

The honor of serving as a Mentor is exceeded only by the reward of watching SigEps’ best experience the world and connect the dots between Greek culture and the Balanced Man Ideal of developing a Sound Mind and a Sound Body.

And…as a Mentor…you get to pay for the experience.

To apply as a Tragos Quest to Greece Mentor, visit www.q2g.org/MentorRegister.asp.

This unique experience is made possible through the generosity of Past Grand President and Order of the Golden Heart recipient Bill Tragos, Washington U. in St. Louis '56, and his wife Lilli. Their endowment allows for the continued emphasis on classic Greek philosophy, centered on the Balanced Man Ideal of developing a Sound Mind and Sound Body. Brother and Mrs. Tragos’ gift will benefit SigEp and its brothers for years to come.

Oh go on. You know you want to. And Mentors/alums, don't you feel fortunate to be able to carry the load yourselves?
