Volunteers enforce posting policies

Speaking of "the writing on the wall", these Sig Eps are trying to get rid of it.

No more than one copy of any flier may be posted on any given bulletin board and the fliers must conform to other legal standards involving advertising, according to SDSU's Buildings and Grounds Policy.

In order to enforce this policy more effectively, Student Health Services' office of Alcohol and Other Drug Initiatives formed Operation Campus Sweep. AOD's mission is to reduce the amount of advertising on campus directed at underage and low-cost drinking.

Groups go around campus and tear down all fliers that violate policy, and report the alcohol related advertisements to local police authorities.

Typically, fraternity and sorority members make up the larger OCS groups, as a part of their philanthropy campaigns.

Liberal studies senior Emily Baker, co-chair of Greeks Advocating the Mature Management of Alcohol, is involved in signing up fraternities and sororities to participate in the program. She said the Sigma Pi, Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternities and Pi Beta Phi sorority have taken part in the program.
