FW: Yale Meeting Plan

We had this come in a few weeks ago from HQ - "indirectly".
It sounds pretty good, actually. In my chapter 30-45 minute meetings were rare, and because of the chaos and hard feelings no one wanted to have a "fun activity" afterwards. I'll put a link to the document itself when I get it uploaded to a storage space. ...

Gee, that was quick: Yale Meeting Plan Memo.doc. (Right-click the link and "save As..." to your local drive.)

...Came over from HQ today. One of the few good things I've seen from Gregg Barra at HQ lately.

District Governors,

We have been working this semester on a new opportunity for our chapters that came to our attention from the CT Delta chapter at Yale University. Attached is a document composed by CT Delta chapter president Dave Berv and myself describing the program. Please read and provide feedback when you can. This is a program that can ensure effective year round recruitment for any chapter, regardless of development model.

It starts with chapter officers streamlining their chapter meetings to 30-45 minutes by e-mailing officer reports out beforehand. After a quick meeting, the chapter will then go and do a fun sound mind/sound body event together. The kicker is that the chapter invites a few recruits to take part in the festivities. Whether a recruit comes to the chapter meeting and the event or just the event does not matter, the point is for recruits to see our chapter operations and get a glimpse of what it would really be like to be in the chapter.

Please feel free to forward this memo on to volunteers or undergraduates at the local level. Our chapters want to do year round recruitment. Here is a way for us to help deliver, while at the same time walking the walk of SM/SB.

Please feel free to contact me with any further questions or comments!

Fraternally,

Greg Barra
