Gembitsky Named Board Of Visitors Student Representative

More good news. This came in via an email from another of our far-flung network of correspondents.
Michael P. Gembitsky, a junior philosophy major from Norfolk, was named the student representative to the Old Dominion University Board of Visitors on Friday, April 7.

The student representative serves a one-year term as a nonvoting, advisory member of the board.

Gembitsky, who is minoring political science, currently serves as executive vice president for the university’s Interfraternity Council and vice president of programming for Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He is a youth soccer coach and works as a youth wrestling camp counselor.

Here is a portion of the bio that was included with the notice:

Since his initiation into Sigma Phi Epsilon in the winter of 2004, Michael has been an active leader in the Virginia Xi chapter as well as the ODU Greek Community. Michael's commitment to leadership and involvement has not been limited to his chapter's walls. In the Spring/Fall of 2004, he served as Vice President of Recruitment for the ODU Interfraternity Council. In the spring of 2005, he served as its Executive Vice President. In addition to his Greek involvement, Michael is an active member of the ODU Pre-Law Association with aspirations of law school following his undergraduate days.
