Delta Delta Delta Fraternity to raise $7.5 Million for Chili's Care Center at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
(Memphis, Tennessee - August 24, 2006)

The Delta Delta Delta Fraternity has committed to raise $7.5 million over the next 5-7 years to name the patient care floor in the new Chili's Care Center at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. This is one of the largest commitments made to a charity by a Greek oranization to date. They announced the project July 4 at their 52nd National Convention in Hollywood, Calif. with John P. Moses, CEO, ALSAC/St. Jude, Terre Thomas, daughter of St. Jude founder Danny Thomas, and 800 collegian and alumnae members of Tri Delta in attendance.

"We are so grateful for the major commitment of $7.5 million by Delta Delta Delta," Moses said. "This magnificent gift will be recognized in the Chili's Care Center, the new premier brain tumor research facility, by the naming of an entire patient care floor. The love, dedication, and support of Tri Delta is truly appreciated by all of the St. Jude patients and their families."

The Tri Delta Patient Care Floor will contain 18 new inpatient rooms that will allow the hospital to sustain expected growth rates foreseen over the next five years. Each suite will provide an attached parent room with a window for viewing the patient, as well as a full bathroom with a standing shower, which the Chili's Care Center is the first to provide. Other features of the patient caer floor include the hospital's main pharmacy, two nurse stations, a family lounge and an education office. A teen room and Child Life play area on the patient care floor will provide an area for Child Life Specialists to educate the child on his or her diagnosis through medical therapeutic activities and play.

The state-of-the-art Chili's Care Center will house the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium that enables St. Jude and other top research institutions to collaborate in the design and implementation of clinical trials and laboratory studies to identify therapeutic approaches for children with brain tumors. Tri Delta's contribution and commitment to St. Jude will be a significant addition to this facility. "On behalf of Tri Delta, I am thrilled to announce our largest philanthropic commitment ever to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Our gift indicates our strong support of the hospital's mission of finding cures and saving children, and we are pleased to know this gift will fund the inpatient care floor in the Chili's Care Center," said Michelle Shimberg, Tri Delta Fraternity President.

At the convention in July, Terre Thomas was initiated into the membership of Tri Delta. "I did not go 'active' in a Greek organization in college, so I am very honored that Delta Delta Delta (fraternity) invited me to be a part of their sisterhood. It means so much to me that I am a member of the sorority that has taken my father's dream to heart. These women have truly dedicated themselves to raising funds for St. Jude so that we can continue to find cures and save children," Thomas said.

Tri Delta partnered with St. Jude in 1999 and since that time has raised more than $2.8 million. The fraternity completed its $1 million endowment of the hospital's teen room in May 2005, a full year ahead of schedule. More than 110 Tri Delta chapters across the country host fund-raising events for St. Jude.
