Western KY Begins Greek Row

SAE Moves into Greek Village

In April of 2005, an early morning fire destroyed the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house on Western Kentucky University’s campus.

Members of the fraternity are now preparing for a move into their new home, within Western’s soon-to-be Greek Village.

Fraternity members began moving furniture into the home earlier today which was recently completed. Those with the fraternity say this is a project that they have been looking forward to completing for some time now.

“Actually when I was a student, we talked about a new house and with Western’s administration encouraging the development of Greek row. It has become a reality and of course for us, the added impetus was the house fire that destroyed our house on College Street a couple of years ago,” said John Minton, Sigma Alpha Epsilon alumni.

The new SAE house is 15,000 and will house around 20 members of the fraternity. They will begin living there just in time for Western’s upcoming spring semester.
