Great Program Needs Interfraternal Help

Summer Opportunities for Western Brothers:

In 1988, Paul Newman (Phi Kappa Tau - Ohio '43) founded the Hole In The Wall Camps (http://www.holeinthewallcamps.org/) for kids with chronic and life-threatening diseases. Almost 20 years later, there are now thirteen provisional and full members of the association serving kids around the world. There are at least three additional camps proposed.

I've just returned from a week volunteering as a cabin counselor at The Painted Turtle Camp (http://www.thepaintedturtle.org/) north of Los Angeles. As with the last two summers, I had an amazing time and met some incredible kids. While Phi Kappa Tau adopted the Hole In The Wall association as our national philanthropy in 1988, one of the things I truly enjoy is the experience at working together with the many interfraternal brothers and sisters who serve the camps as either full-time summer staff or volunteers.

The Painted Turtle has an urgent need for additional male cabin counselors THIS SUMMER. The schedule of sessions is available at http://www.thepaintedturtle.org/turtle/staffvolunteeropportunities. Please consider if you can volunteer for one or two or more weeks this summer and make a difference in the lives of some kids. I can absolutely promise you that this experience will make a change in your life, too.
