SDSU Lifts Interim Suspension on Three Fraternities
SAN DIEGO
San Diego State University has lifted the interim suspension from three campus fraternities, the university announced today.
After a review of case details, SDSU Vice President for Student Affairs James Kitchen lifted the interim suspension from the Phi Kappa Theta, Sigma Alpha Mu and Sigma Alpha Epsilon
fraternities. The suspension was lifted after an administrative review found that those arrested in connection to the controlled substances investigation were either inactive members of the fraternity and/or were not presently residents of chapter houses.
The three fraternities had been placed on suspension based on each having a single member arrested on felony charges. However, the university review found that there was not sufficient information to implicate the fraternity chapter as a whole.
Three other fraternity chapters, including Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Kappa Psi and Theta Chi, are still on interim suspension pending further investigation by SDSU.
