Seuss Read In This Spring
Spring is right around the corner and that means time to celebrate the amazing imagination of Doctor Seuss. Many of you participated in the Sigma Phi Epsilon DC alumni "Seuss on the Loose" program in the past three years.
The program was organized by the Washington, DC alumni chapter of SigEp. Known as Sig Ep Feds (www.sigepfeds.org), we organized this program to honor Dr. Seuss (Theodore Geisel) who was a Sigma Phi Epsilon alumni from Dartmouth University.
The program runs throughout the month of March and our goal is to introduce kids to the magic of Seuss and his creative genius. Our program was a success in its first four years of existence, and we look forward to expanding the program for 2011.
Please let me know if you can spare a few hours one day the first week in March to read to some kids. Once we have all the schools who want to participate lined up, we can start matching them with volunteer brothers who are local to them so its as convenient as possible for you the volunteer.
The programs are usually scheduled first thing in the AM or in the afternoon, and are generally younger elementary school kids. As you can see from the attached PDFs, brothers and kids alike have a great time.
