Student arrested, says SigEp members forced him to drink

Let's hope that this turns out not to be the whole story. If it is, SigEps at Central Arkansas got some 'splainin' to do.

Student arrested, says Sig Ep members forced him to drink | The Echo | ucaecho.net:

Eighteen-year-old student Nolan Foster was arrested for public intoxication at the Rock the Yard concert Sept. 6. He told UCAPD that Sigma Phi Epsilon members made him drink.
A UCAPD officer was working a shift at Sig Ep’s Rock the Yard concert outside Irby Hall when they noticed Foster leaving the concert. He could not walk in a straight line and vomited on his way to Bruce Street.
Foster reaked of alcohol when an officer spoke with him. The officer asked him how much he had to drink and he replied “A lot.” Foster also said some of the members of the Sig Ep fraternity took him to a house and told him that if he wanted to be in the fraternity, he would have to drink.
The officer arrested Foster for public intoxication. He said he was confused as to why he was being arrested, although the officer continued to repeat his charge. A second officer arrived and took Foster to a Faulkner County unit.

UCA police are investigating allegations of sexual assault and video voyeurism at the Sigma Phi Epsilon house involving a member of the fraternity and a member of the Delta Zeta sorority.
Jacob Robinson, president of the campus chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilson, said the fraternity has already responded to the allegations.
“We are aware of the situation involving members of our chapter,” Robinson said. “The chapter and alumni corporation is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation. The undergraduate chapter has suspended all members implicated in the incident pending the outcome of the investigation.”
Robinson declined to say how many members were suspended or provide other details.
Director of Sorority Life Lindsey Osborne contacted police on March 1 to report the video, which was allegedly filmed Feb. 8, according to the police report.
Sources said the fraternity member and the sorority member were engaged in a sexual act that was filmed on a cellphone and circulated among members of the Greek community.
Osborne declined to comment on the incident, referring questions to Arch Jones Jr., director of organizational & community services at the UCA Police Department. Police have not released many details about the incident except the names and personal information of three suspects and 11 witnesses.
One of the three suspects, a 20-year-old student who is a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon, is also listed as a witness. The second suspect, a 19-year-old student from Sherwood, is also a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. The third suspect is a 21-year-old student from Wichita Falls, Texas. His affiliation with the fraternity couldn’t be determined from available information.
Eight of the 11 witnesses are listed on the incident report as students at UCA, and a ninth listed UCA on the education section of her Facebook profile. The remaining two witnesses are adjunct professors at UCA.
One of the alleged witnesses, an 18-year-old student, told The Fountain that he was in Fort Smith on the night of the incident and that the report incorrectly listed him as a witness.
The fraternity was suspended from campus for a year for violating the campus alcohol policy and fighting with members of another fraternity during the spring 2011 semester.
