00 - Breakfast was the usual hotel rubber eggs and raw bacon. There was only one person serving coffee for over 200 attendees and I thought I was going to have to make a rude scene before I got my caffeine fix.
00 - Volunteer session on Risk. Scary stuff. Among the revelations: our insurance company thinks chapter sponsored 'designated driver' programs are too risky, so they don't want chapters to have them. It is still OK for someone to "volunteer" to be a designated driver on his own, though(nudge, nudge; wink, wink).
00 - Officer sessions. A room full of fairly serious guys who seemed genuinely interested in learning how to be better chapter officers. I was impressed both at the turnout and the focus of these guys.
00 Lunch - Supposed to be an "etiquette Lunch". The scheduled speaker had the good manners to become ill and not attend, so we had a chance to visit and get better acquainted with our tablemates.
During one of the breaks an HQ staff person was asked by one of the faculty if the blog was known in Richmond. "Oh, yes. We know about it. But it has some inappropriate things on it." Hot damn, we must be doing something right!
