Well, dear readers, as promised, S&P is pleased to provide you with the results of our Pre-CLA Season Survey. We are one weekend out and the unofficial reports our editors are hearing is that there have been capacity crowds, excellent attendance at sessions, and pretty much good programming. So far, so good. So, it's KUDOS to Brother Chris Minnis for putting it together, albeit, the facilitator material was a little late in getting out. No harm, no foul.
We are also pleased to report from our survey that out in the trenches, Sig Ep is alive and well and there are alumni and undergrads anticipating great things from their respective CLA.
Of those responding to the survey, 48% were alumni or alumni volunteers, 51% undergrads or undergrad officers, and 1% other (could that be a HQ staffer?). 30% of the respondants had attended more than 4 CLAs, 10% had never attended, 39% had been to one, 10% to two, and 10% to 3. A good mix.
90% of you felt that Ritual exemplification should be an important component of CLA, with 8% saying NO, and 3% with no opinion.
With regard to the various opportunities for members, 76% ahd either attended or were planning to attend EDGE, 50% had attended Conclave in 2003, and 76% planned to attend in 2005. 54% had either attended, would consider attending or applied to Ruck. 48% had either attended, would consider attending, or applied to the Quest to Greece. 29%, likewise, for the Hicks Scholarship.
Of those responding, 80% were associated with BMP chapters.
We were suprised that only 69% of those responding felt that we should have a standing Ritual and Values Committee.
Where did the responses come from? 15% from the Pacific Time Zone, 5% from Mountain, 49% from Central, 26% from Eastern, and 5% from other.
Wait, I know you are wanting the real scoop from the open ended questions. Well, they will be in separate posts so this one won't be too long.
Thanks again for responding.
