What do you expect to learn from the interaction with other Brothers and Alumni in informal environments (not scheduled sessions) while attending CLA?
- I expect to learn about others' experiences in Sigma Phi Epsilon.
- This is the best part about CLA. The networking and interaction is where the best opportunities for growth take place.
- to learn what motivates other chapters
- Brotherhood that is bigger than just your specific chapter. I've seen it when I went to the conclave in '03 and when I facilitated at EDGE.
- The way they do things at their chapters.
- I will not be in attendance. I have a prior commitment with my MBA program.
- Find out about fraternity housing at other chapters, and their interaction with college administrators
- Get a chance to know brothers from the area on a more personal level and possibly get info to set up joint events.
- Simply trade advice on life and brotherhood stories.
- Having offline conversations with alumni & volunteers is a great opportunity to gather the collective pulse of the organization and determine ways to better assist the membership.
Different ideas/ways of handling risk management issues. An open forum for ways to carry out the ritual, and to conduct the business of the fraternity. As well as experience the cardnials of virtue, diligence, and brotherly love among them. - Whats wrong with their home chapters.
- Serve as resources to each other on certain issues affecting our chapters.
- It is a great way to network, by passing out phone numbers contact information. It will also help you find ideas in bettering your own personal chapter.
- How BMP is playing out in the real world in our region, current events in the Greek world from various campuses
- Things they are doing that differ from the masses, both good and bad.
- Since this is my chapter's first CLA as a chapter (and not an SEC) it will be nice to interact with chapters actually in our region. There is much diversity in our region (The Backyard or Region 3) which contains many pledging model as well as Balanced Man Program chapters. Despite chapter differences we are all brothers and I hope to learn a lot about the chapter in my region.
- Get to know other brothers around the area
- Who one can trust and who has been asimilated
- Hopefully I will learn to communicate with new/fellow SigEps from when I meet them to when we leave to go home, with this extended communication, I hope to establish a link between our chapters (one of which we have never had in Alaska) to help us find more answers when needed. what each chapter is like.
- I can see what works and does not work in other chapters.
- Network with other sigeps. Find out what their experience is/was like
- The refreshing sense of SigEp spirit that continues to keep me involved long past my undergraduate days.
- It is a great networking opportunity, and a way to learn more about Traditional vs. BMP systems.
- This should be a great opportunity to see the fraternity through the eyes as others: brotherhood at its best. I hope that networking will happen and that idea exchanges will also occur.
- I expect to learn great ideas and hear good stories of other chapters.
- To connect through mutual experiences and to gain further insight into ways to get things done (building on other's experiences).
Once again, expectations were high. Still seems to be all positive reports coming in. That is exceptional for the first weekend out. Let's hope the intensity stays high and that expectations continue to be met at the other CLA venues.
