The Step Off was sponsored by the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. Nashville sophomore Darrien Burress said that the purpose of the step competition was to create unity between the black and white sororities and fraternities.
"We don't want anyone to feel left out," Burress said as he welcomed the audience.
Black fraternities and sororities were paired with white sororities and fraternities to present a show that brought together not only Greeks, but also those who were not within the Greek inner circle.
Russian sophomore Nasha Karpoukhina said that she attended the show because she likes watching people step.
She also said that she liked that there was diversity amongst the sororities and the fraternities.
"It's nice that all the sororities and fraternities can come together," Karpoukhina said.
