Alumnus hosts black-tie event for Katrina

Lehigh again. Don't these guys ever study?
A Lehigh alumnus and Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity brothers raised more than $100,000 for Hurricane Katrina victims at a casino night at the alumnus’s home.

Sig Ep alumnus Tony Caciolo and his wife, Penny Caciolo, hosted the black-tie fundraiser, “A Casino Night in New Orleans,” at their home in Coopersburg, Pa., Saturday night.

Tyler Rock, ’06, president of Sig Ep, said the fundraiser went extremely well. Although the final tally of raised funds was still being calculated Saturday night, the total sum will exceed the goal of $75,000 by at least $25,000, he said.

The money will be donated to Habitat for Humanity to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Guests included local business owners and leaders, friends of the hosts and past customers of Monogram Custom Homes, Caciolo’s business.

That is a fantastic job, guys!
