Our "National Fraternity Website" feature returns after too long an absence. This incarnation will be ad hoc rather than a regular offering a la "Chapter of the Week."
The Lambda Chi Alpha National website is well laid out, easy to navigate, and uses images well to keep your interest without seeming too busy. But the most interesting part to this webhead was the use of forward looking "Web 2.0" features.
Their home page has links to Plaxo - a popular way to keep your contacts up to date; A Lambda Chi Flikr account - there are more than 8,000 fraternity archive photos online and available for viewing; and a link to the "Cross and Crescent" Lambda Chi's Online magazine. The magazine also sponsors "Voices", a blog with 20 members who chronicle their fraternity experience.
We were impressed at the example of what can be done when there are people in charge who "get it" about web connections ultimately being a conversation between nodes. (Hey! Who you callin' a "node"?)
