Warm Temperatures Damage Statues

Michgan Tech - Having some trouble with Winter Carnival. (Picture is "before")

On Friday, a 28-foot ice wall, constructed by Sigma Phi Epsilon, tumbled to the ground. Another group also lost a wall in the thaw, and several statues suffered damage to their detail work.

Nevertheless, students were busy over the weekend try to repair the damage.

"If it gets warm again and the walls start getting thin, we'll get facilities out there with a front end loader in order to take care of the problem before it becomes a safety issue," said Carnival organizer Derek Dehn.

Gotta hate that global warming stuff, anyway. It takes all the fun out of winter.
