Man brandishes gun at fraternity

A Corvallis man was arrested about 1:15 a.m. Friday after he went into a fraternity, offered to sell two residents drugs, refused to leave when turned down, and then pulled out a gun and pointed it at the fraternity members.
A Corvallis Police Department officer on a bike patrol in the College Hill area arrested the man after hearing the argument and being told of the situation by the two residents of Sigma Phi Epsilon, 224 N.W. 26th St.
Mauricio Colunga, 20, of 2005 N.W. Garfield Ave., was arrested on suspicion of pointing a firearm at another person, unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, menacing, disorderly conduct, theft and trespassing.
Colunga, who was booked and released in Benton County jail, was not in possession of any controlled substances at the time of the arrest.
The .45-caliber Glock handgun, which was reported stolen in Woodburn, was recovered.
Colunga entered the fraternity looking for a place to “party,” according to a police news release.
After offering to sell drugs and repeatedly being told to leave, he went to the fraternity’s front lawn, where he continued to argue with members. After refusing to leave, he pulled out the handgun, which had been concealed.Colunga had just started to walk away when approached by the bike patrol officer, and was taken into custody without resisting.
