Sig Eps at Michigan Tech took the overall Winter Carnival competition on the strength of a great skit.
Comedian Joel Chasnoff served as Master of Ceremonies and described the scene well in his opening bit.
"[There are] things I have never seen in my life a wandering around backstage." Chasnoff said.
The skits did include some things out of the ordinary, such as rapping blowfish, fish with copper scales, mermaids, pirates and Crustacean Sea Investigators.
Sigma Phi Epsilon scored the highest out of the fraternities, helping them to win the overall Carnival competition.
Despite the comedic mood at the show, the skits were anything but easy for the organizations to put on.
According to Craig Nagal of Sigma Phi Epsilon, the fraternity began writing the script in November and began practicing the skit before semester break. Upon returning from break, Nagal said the fraternity was practicing nearly every night.
Nagal, who played the part of a dolphin in the skit, said that casting for the skit was not difficult.
"We know the strengths of everyone. I played a dolphin because I could fit that part," Nagal said.
