Please keep Bro. Jones and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

All,
Brother Brent Jones, Baldwin-Wallace ’05, died early this morning from complications to head injuries suffered Sunday, January 16, when he was involved in a scuffle with Brother Adam Gaydos, Baldwin-Wallace ’06, in the chapter’s residence hall after a social function. Brothers and guests who witnessed the two wrestling in a hallway told police that the two seemed to be playing. Others said the shoving match came after Jones' fiancée discovered her cousin with Gaydos in a locked dorm room. Gaydos, turned himself in to police Thursday and was released on a $2,500 bond. Police had charged Gaydos with felonious assault. The college and the chapter suspended him pending the outcome of investigation. The confrontation was short, and Brothers immediately called for help after Jones collapsed unconscious in a doorway. Doctors say his skull had fractured when his head apparently struck the wall.
Brother Jones was a biology major and honor student who hoped to attend veterinarian school. His family, including his fiancée, and chapter brothers had kept vigil at the hospital. Brother Gaydos is a member of the B-W swim team and had no disciplinary record. Regional Director Ed Joseph, District Governor Mike Skordeles and Chapter Counselor Dave Fago have been working closely with the chapter. Ed is en route today to coordinate chapter plans for the memorial service, as Mike is out of the state on business this week. Counseling services are being made available to chapter members and Ed will likely charter buses for the chapter to attend the memorial service in Brent’s hometown 100 miles from the B-W campus.
