Mentor resident indicted in the death of a fellow fraternity brother

A tragic incident last fall has changed the future of this young man.

Adam Gaydos had a bright future ahead of him.

After graduating from high school, he attended Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, where he joined the swim team and Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.

But on Jan. 16, Gaydos' life changed drastically after a physical altercation with a fellow fraternity brother turned deadly.

Brent Jones, 21, of Mount Vernon, died two days after a squabble with Gaydos in the dormitory hallway, Berea Detective Charles Gute said.

On Tuesday, Gaydos was indicted for murder and two counts of felonious assault in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.

Some days it is just no fun to read the news.
