Last Saturday, October 22, our chapter at Loyola Marymont University in Los Angeles hosted MD2 Weekend. Thanks to Lt. District Governor Columbus Johnson’s planning and organization it was a tremendous success with 400 undergraduate brothers, new members, and alumni participating.
This event, Membership Development Day (MD²) in Southern California included EDGE (New Member Training), District #25 First Bi-Annual President's Roundtable, and the Balanced Man Steward/Alumni Volunteer Training.
This event was Brother Johnson’s last official act as he is retiring as Lt. District Governor. He is to be congratulated for originating this idea of combining all these events and coordinating everything perfectly. Also, thanks to HQ, the HQ Staff, particularly Chris Minnis, and the Foundation for the support. LMU was a great place for this event and although the weather wasn’t particularly cooperative everyone that attended came away with a better understanding of where we are and where we are going as a great Fraternity.
This was the largest attendance ever at an EDGE and in this writer’s experience it was one of the best executed. The programming continues to evolve and EDGE is definitely going to be a cornerstone in our Leadership Continuum.
Again, Kudos to Brother Johnson, thanks to the Foundation and the National Office (and staff), to the individuals that served as mentors and facilitators, and particularly to all of you who attended.
